This is an overview of the activities, performance, and observations concerning the new cohort of public health students currently deployed for practical fieldwork. The students have been engaged in various community health activities aimed at enhancing their practical skills and applying theoretical knowledge in real-world settings. Some of the objectives for this hospital based practicals are: 1. To provide students with hands-on experience in public health practices. 2. To develop competencies in community health assessment, data collection, and health education. 3. To expose students to real-life public health challenges and intervention strategies. 4. To encourage teamwork and professional conduct in field settings.
Since deployment, the students have been involved in the following activities: Conducting community health surveys and needs assessments, participating in health education and promotion sessions, assisting in immunization campaigns and disease surveillance, collecting and managing health data using standardized tools and engaging with local health workers and community leaders.
